with a sculptred base and nameplate. Scheduled to ship in October

TR Gameplay Movie
Eidos have released a new movie of the
latest gameplay developments in the Tomb Raider series, which shows
Lara's new fluid and realistic movement. It looks *amazing* - I
can't wait for this game !!! The file is only about 1MB to download,
so it's really worth it. You can download the movie from Tomb Raider:
Chronicles, by
clicking here. They have heaps of brilliant movies, so have
a browse...

ancient and fascinating locations as she searches for the mystical
artifact known as the Scion. There will be 16 levels across four
continents, with gameplay faithful to the original Tomb Raider
game.
Head along to the

Tomb
Raider Movie Script Reviewed
If you're not afraid of spoilers (and
I warn you, they apparently are there !), you can take a look at this
review up at Tomb Raider Chronicles. From the bits of the report
that I skimmed (I'm not fond of spoilers !), it looks as though
this new script will hopefully be a definite improvement over the
last movie, which many people criticised for its scripting problems.
Here's hoping... ^_^

Moving

one is going to be brilliant....so head over to this
link at the official Tomb Raider Site to check it out. You
will need Windows Media Player to view the video, however.

Tomb

There's a new Tomb Raider game being
developed for Game Boy Advance - here's the official press release
from Ubi Soft:
Los Angeles, E3 Show, May
22, 2002 - Ubi Soft® Entertainment, a world leader in interactive
entertainment, today announced a licensing agreement with Eidos
for Tomb Raider on Game Boy ® Advance. With the new two-year
agreement, Ubi Soft acquires exclusive worldwide development

New
Tomb Raider Comic - Best Ever !
The new creative team for the Tomb Raider
Comic have done an utterly, completely and totally stellar job
on this new issue. The new Lara is brilliant - funny, deadly, and
very true to character. Thanks for this go to John Ney Rieber,
the new writer (whose poetic words I greatly enjoyed reading).
Randy Green (now on pencils) has drawn a beautiful Lara too - full
of character, and very cool. Gee, can you tell I like this new
creative team much ? ^_^
The story that will unfold
through the next three issues looks to be very mysterious - this
first issue is a bit of a lead-in, to intrigue us all (and make
us go and buy the next two issues in this story arc, to be sure...)
- the strange theft or two of tenth century Tibetan mandalas,
although there's more here than meets the eye. I can't recommend
this highly enough to anyone who has passed over the comic previously
- give this new one a go, and see what you think ! As always,
click on the image above - or here -
for the full cover (and a pic of the new comic Lara) - although
this issue has appeared in stores with an utterly classy black
cover, embossed with gold foil. Woo....
Fathom
#14
This issue continues the convoluted
and interesting tale of Lara, Aspen and Sara as they hunt through
a glacier for Cannon, while his time runs out. Well drawn (as always
with Michael Turner), and with an intriguing storyline, this one
has been very much worth following for fans of any of the three
series involved in the crossover (Fathom, Tomb Raider and Witchblade).
Two great Tomb Raider comic issues at once....yay ! Click
here or on the small picture above for the cover.
New
Angel of Darkness Video

should you do when confronted by evil ? Apparently you can find
out by watching the streaming video. Click

Angelina
Replaced as Lara ?
Tomb
Raider Chronicles are reporting that Angelina Joile may not
appear in the second Tomb Raider film. Insteak, UK model and
sometimes TV hostess Kelly Brook may star as Lara. Kelly's latest
projects include "Smallville", and she had also hosted Channel
4¹s "The Big Breakfast" and MTV¹s live two-hour show, "Select.".
If you'd like to take a look at her, you can head to The
Official Kelly Brook Site (although you'll need to prepare
yourself for a little bit of horrid music. Don't worry, it stops.
~_^).
Tomb

So if you want to get your hands on
this gorgeous outfit, you'd better hurry. There have already been
64 bids, and I'm sure bidding will intensify as the auction draws

is unfortunately a little out of my price range. *sigh* Ah well...keep

Vote
for Tomb Raider in the MTV Movie Awards
The MTV Movie Awards are on again, and
Tomb Raider has been nominated in a few categories. Angelina Joile
has received a nomination for Best Female Performance (where she
is up against Kate Beckinsale - "Pearl Harbor"; Halle Berry - "Monsters
Ball"; Nicole Kidman - "Moulin Rouge"; and Reese Witherspoon - "Legally
Blonde."), and best fight sequence, for Lara versus robot.
You can vote for Tomb Raider right
here at MTV's website.

Angel
of Darkness Gameplay Movie

- apparently of the gameplay in 'Angel of Darkness', from the London
launch, no less. I'm still downloading it myself, so I haven't
seen it yet - but if you're interested, then click
here to head over and have a look. You'll need to have the
DivX 5 Player installed (yup, there's one for Mac and Linux too
!), so head to http://www.divx.com first

Lara's Old Gear !
Yes, you could own the *original* Lara
Croft outfit - everything minus the boots ! To aid Unicef, Eidos
is auctioning off the first ever real 'worn by Nell McAndrew' and
everything set of clothes. Wow !!! Bidding will commence on the
26th of this month, so that's how long you've got to get your life

Tomb
Raider Comic #20
The latest TR Comic story arc winds
up in this issue, concluding this stange and amazing storyline.
Bringing together several threads of Lara's adventures throughout
the comic series, this one is definitely inventive and different
from your usual Tomb Raider story. Worth a look. As usual, click
on the small image above or here for the
full cover.

Head very quickly over to Tombraider.com to
check out the cool (and decidedly goth ^_^) looking Lara - with
heaps of screenshots, wallpapers, and info on the new game ! Yay
!!! You can also view info on the new official Lara model - Jill
de Jong. Lara looks fabulous, and reading the press info, it sounds
as though they've gone all out making this game different and challenging...I
can't wait ! : D Click on the small image above for a full view
of the new Lara.
Lara
Magazine...
...is no more !!! Yes, the last issue
of the Tomb Raider magazine has come and gone...and there will
be no more large format re-prints of the Tomb Raider Comic issues.
*sniff*. Ending with issue #9, containing the reprint of 'The Lucifer
Text'. However you can still get backissues - email tombraiderbacks@titanemail.com for
more info on how to get your hands on them. As they said, 'Tomb
Raider Magazine has left the building. Thankyou, goodnight, and
could the last one out please remember to set the alarm and turn
off the lights'.

Fathom
#13 - Michael Turner Returns
Comic fans have been rejoicing as the
almost inhumanly talented Michael Turner returns to drawing, having
recovered from his illness (yay !). Fathom 13, the continuation
of the Tomb Raider, Witchblade and Fathom crossover is a worthy
first effort, too - for all those who have been gnashing their
teeth in suspense, waiting to see what would happen after Fathom
12 (myself included !) - you won't be disappointed. Ignore the
slightly mannish drawing of Lara on the
cover, and the whole thing is beautifully and exquisitely illustrated
- Michael's Lara will always be my favourite. To add to this, the
mysterious story rockets along, as we learn more about the ties
between all three women, and as Lara tries to avert the hideous
fate awaiting Cannon...this is a series no-one should miss !
I would strongly suggest reading
the earlier issue of Fathom in this series (#12 - although reading
the whole series would help, too ^_^), and recommend this to
anyone who loves Lara comics (or even if you don't, a great place
to jump in). Have a look at one of Michael's drawings of Lara
by clicking the image above (or here),
or here for the cover.
Tomb
Raider Magazine #9 - Six Free Posters
The ninth issue of the Tomb Raider Magazine
comes with *six* (w00t !), glossy, massive Lara posters ! At A3
(double A4) size, they're almost worth the price of the magazine
as it is (even featuring a poster by Michael Turner, and of course
Andy Park). The magazine also reprints "The Lucifer Text" comic
storyline, illustrated by Francis Manapul, a nice change from the
normal pencils, and it fares very well being blown up. Brilliant
!
Award

stuff, so check it out !

Tomb
Raider Comic #19 - Joy !
This month sees us returning to the
main storyline - a twisty, turny tale with a bit of welcome satire
on reality tv shows. It's mysterious and full of action, with doppelgangers
aplenty. Lara has travelled to Africa to investigate the mysterious
disappearance of the cast and crew of a reality TV show called
'The Last'. But not everyone is what they seem...click on the small
image above to view the full cover.

Lara
- Megatokyo Style
The utterly briliant web-comic, Megatokyo,
in its beginning, featured Lara briefly in a few strips. I would
highly recommend any gaming/comic fan check this one out - it's
awesome ! Take a look at the first strip, with the Lara reference here.
My apologies at not having
any further news - at present, my computer is being fixed (*sniff*),
so I'm using an old 7300 loaned to me - this means I can't connect
scanners or anything, and I'm a bit disorganised ! But please
check out the peculiar screenshot as
it's been updated. ^_^

Hyper
on Next Gen
The latest issue of gaming magazine
Hyper (issue #99) features an article on Tomb Raider: Next Generation.
Even with the huge Lord of the Rings special they have, Lara still
makes it on to the front cover, even though the article isn't huge.
It features an interview with Adrian Smith, answering the Hyper
crew on their Next Generation queries. Hyper specifically notes:
'What we'd like to see: No more crate pushing. No more jumping
from ledge to ledge. Innovation !' From what Adrian says, it looks
good for Tomb Raider fans. There isn't much in the interview you
wouldn't already know if you read the main news websites, but it's
nice to see some good publicity out there. ^_^

Raider Mag #8
This month reproduces one of the most
amazing plot turns of the Tomb Raider Comic series. Again, it comes

large size reprint of a brilliant issue. As usual, click on the

Tomb
Raider Comic #18
This month sees a great little one-shot
story, featuring the pencilling talents of the newest Top Cow recruit,
Gerardo Sandoval. The pencilling style, although slightly strange
in places, looks gorgeous and original, and is a refreshing change
from the usual pencils. The story isn't groundbreaking, but it's
still well told and intriguing, and well worth the read. As usual,
click on the little image above for the full cover.
